The Connecticut Unit’s first annual herb symposium took place in 1985 and traveled around the state until settling at the Pond House Cafe Garden Room in Elizabeth Park in 2003. This program is designed to educate and inspire everyone to incorporate herbs into their daily lives. Attendees enjoy an herb-infused morning snack and a delicious lunch prepared by the Pond House, featuring herbs chosen by the guest speaker. Browsing the herbal boutique and strolling through the many gardens in Elizabeth Park round out a perfect day!
We are delighted to welcome Janice Cox as the featured speaker for our 2026 Herb Symposium. A nationally recognized author and educator, Janice brings decades of expertise and infectious enthusiasm for herbs, roses, and the art of natural beauty. Her engaging presentations have inspired gardeners across the country to discover the beauty, fragrance, and everyday uses of plants — and we know this year’s symposium will be no exception.
Copies of Janice Cox’s book Natural Beauty From The Garden: More Than 200 Do-It-Yourself Beauty Recipes & Garden Ideas can be pre-ordered at the time of registration.
